Family History
Are you researching your family history?
In the first instance, it is recommended that family researchers conduct their own research through freely available on-line archives at local libraries or area Heritage Record Offices.
After researching the Census Records, the Birth, Marriage, and Death Registers, etc. the researcher may then have narrowed their research to specific unanswered questions.
At this point, it may be that the Colyton Heritage Centre can help.
Please note
that the Colyton Heritage Centre does not have on-line access to Ancestry or the Census Records, and is unable to provide records which are easily found on-line with Ancestry as explained above.
Research Assistance
The Colyton Heritage Centre is a volunteer run venue and holds a unique local archive containing photos, books, documents and some family records which may prove useful to research.
The society will always try to provide help for anyone wishing to research family history or any other aspect of Colyton’s past. Should your enquiry require extensive research then the Society would ask for a donation of £15.
Please submit your enquiry using the Research Request Form so that we can assess how we may be able to help you.
