South African, Alan Gillett and his wife dropped into the Heritage Centre this morning seeking information about his ancestor George Gillett who was a doctor and apothecary in Colyton in the mid C19th. Canadian biologist and writer, Mark Polet from Edmonton, Alberta visited Colyton on Thursday, 12 June 2014. He met with two members of the History Society – John Cochrane and John Forrester Addie – in the new Heritage Centre in the Market Place, for a briefing on Colyton’s Saxon past.
