Canadian biologist and writer, Mark Polet from Edmonton, Alberta visited Colyton on Thursday, 12 June 2014.  He met with two members of the History Society – John Cochrane and John Forrester Addie – in the new Heritage Centre in the Market Place, for a briefing on Colyton’s Saxon past.  Mr Polet was undertaking background research for a book he is writing for children focussing on the  historic 10th century Saxon cross now located in the transept of St Andrew’s Church.
