The History Society is endeavouring to establish the significance, provenance and age of the Mural. Enquiries have been made with various institutions. Professor D Park, who co-ordinates The National Survey of Medieval Wall Paintings archive kept at the Courtauld Institute, has expressed great interest and will provide information on the iconography of the painting.

Likewise, the Head of Research and Conservation Department of the V&A has also expressed real interest upon receiving a full folio on the House and Mural, as compiled by Mr John Forrester-Addie. Enquiries have also been made further afield with Citeaux Abbey, France.
